May 22 LOWERTOWN Walking Tour: New Ideas in Old Building

The 19th century warehouses, many designed by architects during the railroad boom, now house innovative businesses in shared spaces. Explore the area 9-block area with a local expert. You will receive a handout with resources, and enjoy a surprise tasty treat.

June 5 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. JAMES J HILL CENTER (LIBRARY)

Tour the historic JJ Hill Center, a high point in the city’s Beaux Architecture. Event includes tour of the building and library, boxed lunch in the “Great Reading Room”, and a talk by Eileen McCormick about Mary Hill, “In Her Own Name”.
Select lunch with reservation and payment: (1) Grilled Chicken/Pepper-Jack Cheese on Ciabatta, (2) Roast Beef/Cheddar Cheese, or (3) Vegetarian Gluten-Free Harvest Apple Salad. Served with water, potato salad, fruit cup, and cookie.

June 19 10:00 – Noon THE MODERNS: F. Scott Fitzgerald & Art Deco Saint Paul Walking Tour

Explore the influence of modernism in St. Paul’s urban renewal efforts during F. Scott Fitzgerald’s he Jazz Age. We will look at 13 Art Deco structures during the 11-block tour. You will receive a handout with resources, and enjoy a surprise tasty treat.

JULY 26 2:00 p.m. GLENSHEEN at the History Theater

The Ivey Award winning musical GLENSHEEN is returning to the History Theater this summer, and AAUW has set aside a block of tickets at the group rate of $30, 30% off regular price. Join us for a stirring afternoon performance of this “cark musical” with wicked dialogue and evocative music”.
