National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)

I would like to invite you to join a committee to select candidates for the NCCWSL Conference in May 2017. You are also invited to encourage women in the 3rd or 4th year of college to apply for a scholarship for this conference that is held on the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.
The conference was developed to support our next generation of women leaders. It is a fast paced three-day meeting where sophomore and junior college women network and develop their leadership skills and gain confidence to return to their campuses and communities ready to work as leaders. Students hear exciting speakers, participate in workshops focusing on advocacy, leadership, health and wellness, and real world issues such as financial literacy and post-college life.
If you know someone who would be interested, the application is on the AAUW website. She should fill it out and send it to NCCWSL Committee, St. Paul Branch. 990 Summit Ave., St. Paul, Minnesota 55104 by January 15, 2017.

Within 2 years of graduation you can Give a Grad a Gift of free membership in the national AAUW (value $49) at no cost to either of you. National AAUW membership exposes a new grad to the power that comes from belonging to a national women-led organization of more than 170,000 members and supporters who believe in and advance equity and education for women and girls. Membership also expands networking opportunities through career development opportunities and community action projects.


Timely Membership Renewal. In the Spring it is time for annual AAUW membership renewal. All members who renew before May 15 will be included in a special drawing: 5 lucky members will get a $49 refund of their national dues. All dues should be paid by June 1.St. Paul Branch dues are $150 a year:  $49 goes the National AAUW, $9 to the State AAUW and $92 stays in our Branch:  $30 for the House Preservation Fund + $62 for our wonderful programs and special initiatives.  And please remember: your membership dues are opening new horizons for women and girls all across the country.  What a great investment!  If you choose, you may also make an extra gift as you renew.
